The Kendrick Family
Classes of 1979, 2006, 2008 and 2010

The Kendrick Family represents three generations of Forest Lake High School graduates who have gone on to successful lives after high school. Paul Kendrick and Janelle Lindberg-Kendrick both grew up in Scandia and both were children of Forest Lake graduates, as would their children eventually be.
Paul and Janelle both work as teachers in the school district: Paul teaches Physical Education at Forest Lake Area High School and coaches football and track, while Janelle teaches special education at Century Junior High School.

Paul Kendrick grew up on a farm in Scandia and was a star football player, hockey player and track athlete for the Forest Lake Rangers in the late 1970s. Upon his graduation in 1979, Paul attended Mankato State University and then Hamline University, where he majored in education. He played football and track and field for the Hamline Pipers and, while at Hamline, he was twice named Division III All-America in both the discus and shot put (in 1982 and 1983). He graduated from Hamline in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in physical education and went on to earn his Master's degree in Education from the University of Minnesota. Paul eventually came back to Forest Lake to teach and coach, and in 1999 he was inducted into the Hamline University Athletics Hall of Fame.

Janelle Lindberg-Kendrick, also a 1979 graduate of Forest Lake High, was a member of both the National Honor Society and Student Council during her high school years. She also played on the varsity tennis team, ran on the track and field team and was a wrestling and hockey cheerleader. She attended St. Cloud State University where she earned her bachelor's degree in special education and received her Master's degree in Education from the University of Minnesota.
Dustin Kendrick was an outstanding student at Forest Lake High and, like his father, a standout athlete for the Rangers, lettering in football, hockey and track. In addition to his achievements in academics and sports, he was a member of the National Honor Society and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. Dustin graduated in 2006 and went on to study and play hockey at the Massachussets Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) where he earned a bachelor of science degree in aeronautics and astronautics. He is currently continuing his studies at M.I.T., pursuing his Ph.D. in bioastronautics.
Cody Kendrick was also an honor-roll student who graduated from Forest Lake Area High School in 2008. He lettered in wrestling, cross country, weight lifting and played on the school's lacrosse club team. Cody was also an Eagle Scout. After graduation he attended Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN, where he is currently studying culinology.
Charise Kendrick was a 2010 graduate of Forest Lake High. Charise was an honor-roll student, an all-conference tennis player and made the Academic All-State team in hockey. She also lettered in track and field and was a National Honor Society member. Charise is currently studying business finance and marketing in the honors program at Bethel University, and she plays women's hockey for the Bethel Royals.
