Program Breakdown

Classroom -  30 hours
Forest Lake Area High School

Classroom is the first part of our driver education package. An updated comprehensive driver education curriculum is used and includes the following: sleep deprivation, road rage, map reading, distracted drivers, drunk goggles, cell phone laws, anti-lock brake systems, impaired driving, just to name a few. These classes are taught by licensed K-12 educators who have licensure in Driver Education also.

Students must attend all ten classroom sessions. On the last day of classroom instruction, each student will receive the Blue Card that is required to take the permit test. Please include middle name and date of birth when registering.

Behind the Wheel - 6 hours

Forest Lake Area High School

Behind the wheel is the second part of our driver education package. A valid instruction permit will be given by the State of Minnesota when the permit test has been passed. This permit is needed to begin our behind the wheel program.

If any of the six behind the wheel hours are missed, an additional $35 per hour will be charged to make up each hour missed. Please include your middle name, date of birth and permit number when registering.

Behind the wheel is offered throughout the school year: after school, weekends and during summer vacation.
