English as a Second Language

ESL

ESL picture

The English as a Second Language Program (ESL) at Forest Lake Elementary School provides opportunities for students who speak languages other than English to become fluent in English. We have students who are just beginning to learn English, to student who are more advanced and just need more practice with academic English.

We use hands-on experiences, music, world literature, and we select materials to fit the needs of each student. Materials are chosen to reflect the Minnesota State Standards and Forest Lake School District Outcomes. Students who would benefit from the English as a Second Language Program will need to register at their home attendance area school before a determination can be made to the appropriate English as a Second Language Program.

Programs are offered at Forest Lake Elementary and Lino Lakes Elementary. Call or e-mail if you would like to visit or ask questions.
